Blue Grass Cowboy Church is an affiliate of the Cowboy Church Network of Kentucky.  This network comprises several like minded sister churches in Kentucky including Cane Run Station Cowboy Church in Lexington, Rugged Cross Cowboy Church in Richmond, Redemption Road Cowboy Church in Georgetown, Cowtown Cowboy Church in Williamstown, Triple Crown Cowboy Church in Frankfort, Mending Fences Cowboy Church in Monticello and Rodeo Cowboy Church in Taylorsville and several mobile ministries such as the Horseshoe Ministry, IBRA (barrel racing) Ministry, and the EXCA (Extreme Cowboy Racing Association) Ministry.  The network’s associated churches operate independently, but under the same guiding principles as discerned through scripture.  The network’s mission is to take the message of Christ Jesus as savior and redeemer into the world; particularly to the equine community.  Members of the network understand the culture and the need to bring the word to the people.  To fufill this need being mobile is a requirement; to go to barrel races, horse shows, rodeos and trail rides.  The network has provided worship services for the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Shriner’s Rodeo, PBR bull rides, Parelli Tour at the Alltech Arena, the Kentucky Trail Summit and Kentucky Horse Council Roundup.

The network of Kentucky is a charter of the Cowboy Church Network of North America headquartered in Midland, North Carolina, which is a partnership of over 70 Southern Baptist cowboy churches across the United States and Canada.  The network was founded over 10 years ago by Jeff Smith, a traditional church pastor, who witnessed the need for a way to reach his fellow horse lovers.  The idea of cowboy church was not invented by Jeff, but he saw the opportunity to use this theme to reach people that may not be able to attend a traditional church.  The Network serves and supports existing member cowboy church pastors and provides tutorial, and peer support to new church plants.  More information can be obtained at
